Duesseldorf is the capital of Germany's largest state North-Rhein-Westphalia and is the preferred administrative, commercial and cultural hub for the close by traditional industrial area 'Ruhrgebiet' (incoporating cities like Bochum, Essen, Dortmund, Duisburg). Not only people from Duesseldorf and the Ruhrgebiet but from all over North-Rhein-Westphalia and neighboring countries Belgium and The Netherlands like to show their wealth and extravagant tastes in Germanies best frequented luxury shopping district 'Königsallee'.
As large parts of Duesseldorf needed to be rebuild during the last century there are not so many historic sites, but this is partly compensated by the breathtaking architecture of the 'Media Harbour' (a converted part of the Rhine-Harbour targeting the media and advertising industry) featuring the three twisted constructions by renowned architect Frank Gehry. Another architectural highlight is the 'Dreischeibenhaus' (three plates building) one of the most significant examples of post-war modernist international style.
Along the Rhine river you can find as well the free spanning bridge 'Rheinkniebrücke' and the lively 'Rheinpromenade', a wide pedestrian area on the river banks, highlighted by the television tower.
Duesseldorf is the largest Japaness city outside of Japan and you can easily find Japanes restaurants, super-markets, hotels and schools.
The Duesseldorf fairgroud hosts Germany's most important fashion fair 'Igedo' next to fairs for the yachting (BOOT), printing and paper (DRUPA, INTERPACK), materials (COMPOSITE Europe, ALUMINIUM, METEC), RV (CARAVAN) and other industries.
Dusseldorf is home to the global (or local) headquarters of companies like Henkel (cosmetics and detergents), Metro (trade), Vodafone (telecommunication), Droege International Group (investment and consulting), IKB (finance), Rheinmetall (fabrication) and many others.
Duesseldorf is not only good location for industrial research, b-to-b research, research among HNWI's, car-clinics (especially within the luxury and sports segment) but as well for consumer research.
Our preferred focus-group facility is well located in downtown Duesseldorf - within walking distance to the Rhine river and the 'Koenigsallee'.
